Texas A&M International University: Student Philanthropy Ambassadors
During my time as a student at Texas A&M International University, I had the opportunity to serve as the Social Media Manager for a student organization. In this role, I was responsible for utilizing my skills in graphic design, photography, videography, communication, and time management to inform the public about the organization's activities and future plans.
Managing the social media accounts of the organization required me to be creative, strategic and reliable. I was able to design visually appealing graphics and content, capturing events and moments, creating videos and using my communication skills to engage with the audience. Furthermore, being able to manage my time effectively was crucial to ensure that all tasks were completed in a timely manor.
It was a challenging but fulfilling experience, allowing me to develop my skills in various areas and contribute to the organization's success. I am grateful for the opportunity to have served in this role and the lessons it has taught me.
SPA Retreat
The Student Philanthropy Ambassadors recently participated in a retreat where they engaged in various team-building activities to promote camaraderie and familiarity among members. Furthermore, the group participated in games, creating a fun and enjoyable atmosphere for all involved. The retreat served as an excellent opportunity for the ambassadors to strengthen their teamwork skills and bond as a group.

Make A Difference Day
Make A Difference Day is a nationwide event that brings together millions of volunteers on the fourth Saturday of October to make a positive impact on their communities. Texas A&M International University started its own Make A Difference Day in 2010, with 150 students coming together to serve the Laredo-Webb area. It has since become a beloved tradition among TAMIU students

Highway Clean-up
Twice a year, the Student Philanthropy Ambassadors partner with TxDOT to host a volunteer event that brings together students from TAMIU. The mission of this event is to keep the Laredo area and the highways around the university clean and green. This event not only helps to beautify the community, but also serves as an opportunity for student organizations to connect and promote community service. The partnership between the Student Philanthropy Ambassadors and TxDOT allows for a collective effort towards a shared goal of maintaining a clean and sustainable environment for all in the Laredo area.

Kindness Week
The Student Philanthropy Ambassadors (SPA) played a significant role in the organization of Kindness Week, a week-long event that took place on campus. Each day of the week featured a different activity centered around promoting kindness and positivity. On the first day, students were encouraged to write kind notes for strangers. The second day, the SPA planted a mirror on campus surrounded by kind messages, offering a photo opportunity for students to capture a positive message. On day three, SPA collaborated with the Laredo Animal Protective Society (LAPS) for an event called Kindness K-9s, where LAPS brought puppies available for adoption for students to interact and play with. The final day of Kindness Week, SPA gave students the opportunity to paint a banner that was then hung in the student center as a reminder of the importance of kindness.
